The WHB was originally created from a need for competent and compassionate sliding scale therapy for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. With harm reduction principles at its core, we strive to meet clients where they are at, and in their current life circumstance. The WHB is here to provide client-centred, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, inclusive & "non-judgey" counselling.
This is a one-on-one counselling experience where we work together over time to achieve your goals. We will start by assessing where you are now and developing a personalized plan to help you get to where you want to be.
Along the way, we’ll explore various therapeutic approaches, each explained to you in clear, simple terms so you understand the strategies we’re using every step of the way.
Therapy can be particularly helpful for addressing major life transitions, such as the loss of a loved one, parental divorce, starting high school, transitioning to post-secondary education, or coping with a new health diagnosis.
For those who feel in-person therapy would be more beneficial for their child, I offer in-home or community-based therapy services in St. Thomas and surrounding areas. Please book an initial consultation to discuss these options further.
As a queer and trans individual, I understand the need in creating safe spaces for adults and youth to explore their identities. Working together we will navigate what being a whole human being looks like to you. We will engage in open dialogue about gender identity, sexual orientation and expression, while encouraging your self-discovery and clarity.
I offer age-appropriate resources to empower you with knowledge & promote self-acceptance.
This therapy is geared towards helping couples, throuples and polycules. We will work together to improve communication, deepen connections, rebuild trust and create more fulfilling relationships.
By using compassion focused therapy along with the Gottmann Method, we will identify and address negative interaction patterns and strengthen the positive ones in your relationships.
This service uses a combination of psychotherapy strategies and other evidence-based practices to help you achieve specific goals in your career, athletics, music, or any other area of focus.
Performance coaching can range from a single session to multiple sessions, depending on the complexity of your goals and the barriers you’re facing.
Note: Performance Coaching is the only service available to clients residing outside of Ontario, Nova Scotia and NFLD.
Talking about sex can be awkward and uncomfortable, but it is my job to make that easier and be professional while having a sense of humour and helping you feel at ease.
During our sessions, we will work together to identify any intimacy, connection, and sexual confidence concerns in a safe and non-judgemental space. We will uncover and address the thoughts and feelings that are keeping you from enjoying a healthy sex life.
Note: sex therapy sessions do not involve any physical contact or sexual activity between us.
Devon Church (they/he) I am a Registered Nurse, Psychotherapist with over two decades of experience in various mental health care settings including hospitals, community and home-based care, group and transitional care homes, and virtual care.
Since beginning my nursing career, I have explored numerous specialties to find the area that best aligned with my skills and passion for helping others live their best lives. Over time, I found the traditional healthcare system frustrating and limiting for both myself and my patients.
My original specialization was in behavioural dementias & palliative care, where I learned how to build honest and trusting therapeutic nurse client relationships. Led by my compassion, kindness and humour, I work with my clients to support them to feel truly heard, seen, and valued as the multifaceted and unique individuals they are.
I am a board member of Elgin County Pride, and also work with local agencies and health care providers, advancing local knowledge on gender-affirming care.
