I'm a firm believer that therapy doesn't have to feel like a trip to the dentist. I specialize in awkward topics, so it's important to me that our conversations feel like you are talking to a trusted friend.
Did you grow up being told to just, "suck it up buttercup"? This kind of thinking might have worked for older generations, but being the children & grandchildren of that mentality, we've seen that it doesn't foster healthy coping mechanisms. We know that hurt people, hurt people & pretending something doesn't exist, doesn't make it go away.
I help individuals, partnerships and whole family units. I favour a compassion focused therapy model, often coupled with CBT strategies & mindfulness techniques that are tailored to suit each individual.
My therapy emphasizes self-empathy, humour, & self-discovery. In a non-judgmental atmosphere, we explore emotions & facilitate effective communication for genuine understanding.
I am dedicated to creating a safe space for adults & youth to explore their identities & navigate what being a whole human being looks like to them. I engage in open dialogue about gender identity, sexual orientation & expression, while encouraging self-discovery & clarity. I offer age-appropriate resources to empower them with knowledge & promote self-acceptance.
